Herston Yards Farm And Mongolian Yurts

Primrose Hill Farm
This site is useful in that it may have some availability when most of the others in the area are fully booked in the busy months. That's partly because it's quite hard to find on a single track road off the main Swanage-Corfe Castle main road at Harman's Cross.
The facilities are basic but adequate and represent good value for money. For £5 pp/pn you get a clean toilet block, 20p shower blocks, dish washing facilities, a 20p 240v electric socket for emergency phone charging / inflating beds etc, and a couple of fridge-freezers free of charge where you can store your food and freeze your cool blocks.
There is no camp shop, but 15 minutes walk away is Harman's Cross and a couple of Petrol Station/Shops that are well stocked.
The site is split into 2 fields (for tents) and there's a fairly significant slope and few locations that are truly flat. The pitches are not marked so grab what you can.
The location is really nice, with Harman's Cross a short walk away with the Swanage Steam Railway station giving a route into Swanage or to Corfe Castle the other way.
By walking down the hill towards Harman's Cross you see a public footpath to the left signposted to Woodyhyde, with truly spectacular views of the steam railway, Corfe Castle and the downs in the background.
If you don't want to cook, the best local pubs for food are the Castle Inn in Corfe Castle, or the Halfway Inn the other side of Corfe Castle.
All in all, this site a good option for those turning up on a budget, not needing any frills or when availability is low elsewhere.
